Checking Off The Kid-Friendly Bucket List in Rosemont, Illinois<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chicago and its surrounding suburbs are an excellent place to live, to raise a family, and to have some kid-friendly fun. Sometimes, my kids and I treat long weekends as \u201cStaycations,\u201d where we are able to act as tourists in our own city and take a deep breath and unwind without having to worry about rushing to another practice, game, or dance recital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this in mind, we sit together to create a \u201cKid-Friendly Bucket List\u201d at the start of each new year – and they end up much like resolutions for us. This list has expanded as my kids have gotten older, more mature, and have become more aware of their preferences in activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During Fall Break our plan is to check two places off our bucket list with a trip to Rosemont, Illinois – located just five minutes from Chicago. These kid-friendly venues: iFLY – indoor skydiving and The Sugar Factory Restaurant and Retail Shop will prove to make some Staycation memories to last a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While skydiving is not for the faint of heart, indoor skydiving provides the same type of experience without the risk. As a mom, I want my kids to enjoy the adrenaline and adventure of stepping outside of their comfort zones (or flying, in this case) but I definitely would never consider allowing them to actually jump out of an airplane! iFLY, however, captures the essence of a \u201cflight\u201d while tandemly providing a one-of-a-kind memory your child will never forget. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s best to plan ahead and book your experience at iFly in advance – from start to finish plan on staying about an hour and forty-five minutes. The kid-friendly instructors and staff make sure all safety protocols are followed prior to the actual \u201cflight.\u201d First-time flyers must participate in a training session – even the youngest of flyers (iFly is appropriate for ages 3-103!). After donning a \u201cflight suit\u201d with specially designed handles, the kid-friendly staff help guide even the youngest of flyers to a safe and rewarding experience. Flyers are also required to wear flight goggles during the flight experience. Since each flight simulates a \u201creal\u201d jump out of an airplane, the free fall experience only lasts about 45 seconds to a minute. You can choose to do one or more flights on your visit to iFly – and since you\u2019re there\u2026 make the most of it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
