“Mom, you have to try it! It’s super fun!” How could I say no? The next thing I knew, my child was grabbing my arm, leading me up several flights of stairs and shoving me into a tube. “This looks scary. Is this scary?” The waterslide attendant shrugged her shoulders as I looked over at a father and son combo giving me the thumbs up, as if you say “You’re Brave!” So there I was, standing in a cylindrical chamber and the floor dropped below me, plummeting several feet into gushing water and spitting out of a pipe at the bottom. What the heck just happened?!
Great Wolf Lodge Waterpark just happened.
I had heard stories of how children go bananas over water slides. I admit I was curious. I had not been on one since I was a child myself. This was our family’s first trip to the water park. It was in Manteca, California and it was magical. Some slides are more intense than others but there are slides for everyone. Height requirements and weight limitations are on the water slides for safety. Some are made for a single human body while others require multiples to sit on a raft.
The Great Wolf Lodge is a full resort with a water park, wave pool, an elevated ropes course, bowling, restaurants and a hotel. It caters to families and children which makes this place super special. The resort is a chain and there are Great Wolf Lodges in multiple states. You will find all their details listed on the KidFriendlyVenues app on this website. Moms can rate their visits and recommend to others with their five star rating. The waterslides shaved years off my life and it was the most fun I have had since Covid rolled through. So five stars from me!
I wanted an adventure for the family and one that would tucker out the kids. It worked. Home again, and after good naps, we rehashed the stories of the fun we had that day. My youngest is still giggling about how he tricked me into the scariest waterslide there!
